These rules govern staff copy and guest essays. They sit beside the about page and the write for us guidelines.
Independence
Clinics cannot buy a ranking, a “best of” slot or an unnamed edit. Advertising, if we ever take it, will be labelled. Paid or guest-post links use rel="sponsored". The desk does not accept complimentary treatment in exchange for coverage.
Sources
Prefer primary Australian sources: AHPRA registers, Services Australia (including the Child Dental Benefits Schedule), the Australian Dental Association, WA Health and Healthdirect. Overseas studies can illustrate a point but should not be presented as WA policy. Typical fee ranges are ranges, not quotes from a named practice unless that practice has agreed to be named.
Medical limits
We do not tell a reader they have an abscess or that they should skip a hospital. Copy must leave room for a registered practitioner to examine the person in the chair. Every article carries a short disclaimer; it is not a fig leaf for reckless advice.
Voice
Australian English. Specific suburbs and services beat generic “your local dentist” copy. We write for adults who pay bills, including parents, carers and people who are afraid of the chair.
Corrections
Factual errors get a note on the article and an updated timestamp. Send evidence through the contact form. We will not silently swap a paragraph to soothe a clinic’s marketing manager.
Images
Photographs and diagrams must be Creative Commons or public domain, self-hosted, and credited on the page and on the credits register. We do not scrape clinic Instagram feeds.
Conflicts
Writers declare clinic employment, health-fund work or a financial interest in a product mentioned. If the conflict is too tight, we spike the piece.
